Neighborhood Tavern Offers “Bayou ‘n Bourbon” Celebration Menu Items for a Limited Time

ORLANDO, Fla. (February 17, 2014) – The Big Easy is making a six-week pit stop at Orlando’s favorite neighborhood restaurant, Marlow’s Tavern. The tavern is offering its annual Bayou ‘n Bourbon celebration menu from Tuesday, February 18 through Monday, March 31. Marlow’s will serve NOLA-spirited fare and cocktails that will take diners on a culinary tour of Louisiana.

“We are inspired by the unique and delicious flavors of New Orleans cuisine and aim to create the same tastes with our signature Marlow’s Tavern twist,” said John C. Metz, executive chef and co-founder of Marlow’s Tavern. “We love to pay homage to the flavors of Louisiana once a year and our guests always enjoy the bold, flavorful dishes we create!”

The Bayou ‘n Bourbon menu is offered daily for lunch and dinner in addition to the main menu.

Jazzed-up dishes include:

Roast chicken and shrimp gumbo – a Louisiana tradition with a Marlow’s twist ($6.5)
Fiery spice lump crab cake – Louisiana-inspired lump crab cake spiced up with sweet corn and pepper relish, baby arugula, Roma tomato, Dijon dressing and “infamous” smoked chili cream ($11.5)

Honey Jack chicken and Andouille flatbread – blackened Prestige Farms chicken, spicy Andouille sausage, caramelized red onion and pepper jack cheese with sweet and spicy Honey Jack on crisp flatbread ($9.5)

“Nawlins-style” po’boy – tempura battered shrimp and crawfish, sweet slaw, shredded lettuce, Roma tomato and “infamous” smoked chili cream on a French baguette ($12.5)

Bayou burger – fresh ground beef all “jazzed up” with Andouille sausage, cheddar cheese, crawdaddies, lettuce, Roma tomato and house-made Creole rémoulade on a toasted onion roll ($13)

Deconstructed jambalaya – grilled Prestige Farms chicken, Andouille sausage, house-made dirty rice and traditional crawfish Creole sauce ($14.5)
Sweet Bourbon St. rib-eye – blackened Jack Daniels Honey-blazed rib-eye served with tiny asparagus and a crispy sweet potato cake ($26)

A Bourbon Street meal is not complete without a sweet treat. Marlow’s offers honey-bourbon bread pudding, made with honey and vanilla crème Brûlée, soaked Cuban bread and a splash of Jack Daniel’s Honey ($7) to round out the meal.

Guests can enjoy classic New Orleans-style cocktails and drinks with Marlow’s handcrafted touches such as:

“Pat’s” Marlow’s Hurricane – a New Orleans tradition borrowed from Pat O’Brien’s with Bacardi light rum, fresh orange juice and a floater of Bacardi 151 ($8.5)

Ramos Gin Fizz – Van Gogh dry gin, house-made sour, light cream and orange flower water, shaken 50 times until frothy and served icy ($9)

Cajun Cosmo – Absolut Mango and Peppar, cranberry, triple sec and fresh lime ($9.5)

Abita Restoration – the Louisiana “home brew” with intense hops makes this traditional pale ale the perfect partner for all things Cajun ($5.5)

Abita Amber – the first beer Abita Brewery ever brewed. Munich-style lager brewed with crystal malt and perle hops, smooth, malty, slightly caramel flavor and a rich amber color. Voted “Best Beer” in New Orleans ($5.5)

Sokol Blosser Evolution, Oregon 16th edition – unique blend of nine different white grapes, produced and bottled with hand-selected fruit from Oregon, Washington and California ($11 a glass; $44 a bottle)
